Amadeus Code and OTOKAI Featured in Leading German Newspaper DIE ZEIT

On September 6, 2026, Amadeus Code and our music app, OTOKAI, were featured in DIE ZEIT, one of Germany’s leading national media outlets.

Founded in 1946, DIE ZEIT is a major German weekly newspaper known for its in-depth reporting and analysis across politics, economics, society, culture, science, and other fields.

The article explores the social and economic challenges posed by dementia in Japan, one of the world’s most rapidly aging societies. It highlights a range of initiatives, including dementia awareness programs, dementia cafés, data-driven approaches to care and prevention, and new services developed by private companies.

As one example of these efforts, the article introduces Amadeus Code and OTOKAI.

Alongside an interview with Jun Inoue, CEO of Amadeus Code, the article explains how OTOKAI enables users to create works by combining photos or videos, words inspired by them, and music. It also refers to our research into the relationship between music-based creative activities and cognitive function, including findings published in the academic journal Brain and Behavior.

We are pleased to have the opportunity to introduce OTOKAI through one of Germany’s leading media outlets, as part of a broader discussion on how Japan is addressing the challenges of an aging society and dementia.
